I moved and needed new locks. Ori came over right away and quoted me $300 less than another place. He was kind, professional, and unbelievably thorough - he even filed down a lock part so that my door would close correctly. I have had bad experiences with locksmiths in the past, and I feel like it's easy to get ripped-off in Manhattan since we're all so used to over-paying. I can't recommend Amazon Locksmith enough.

Be careful there are a lot of scams out there not this place. A $50 job here could easily cost you a few hundred elsewhere. The owner Sasi is very honest and is quick to tell it to you straight. He’s the Israeli guy with a yarmulke very knowledgeable and friendly.

RUDE owner. I mean that. In an old man sort of way. He asked if a lock cylinder could be fixed and I asked him if he had the individual tumblers and springs. He asked for clarification because he was going on the notion it simply needed to be re-keyed (it needs actual parts). He blew up on me and ask me what language he spoke, of course, in that old man ready for death sort of way. I would NEVER buy anything from him. Instead of crusty old man at Amazon Locksmith, I'd rather get my experience shopping for a lock at Amazon.com

Brought in a mortise lock to be fixed or replaced, charged a high but not unfair NYC price, but was a little sketchy in substituting a Chinese lock for the American original I needed replaced and they did charge me for the higher price item. When it did not fit I brought it back and then they gave me the "real" item. So it worked out but I Wasted a lot of my time and worse I felt I was made a fool of.

I brought in a Segal door lock that was stuck open. The locksmith worked on it a few minutes, told me that it was still partially stuck, but kept at it for another minute and got it working. When I asked for the price he declined any payment. He could have easily charged me or told me that I'd need to buy a new lock.

I came specifically to Amazon to get a high security lock because of the great reviews. Of course, I called first to make sure they had the type of lock I was looking for (Medeco) which they did. Then I trekked down from Columbia and took a look in person.

There were two gentlemen at the lock. They were very patient and knowledgeable. What I love most when dealing with folks in the repair/maintenance industry is when you want something specific but then they suggest something similar but better and cheaper. You can't ask for anything more decent or honest about that. Their prices are also

Super fast key-making. I made one copy of two keys and the guy made them in about five minutes. Nice! $9 for both, cash only for anything less than $10. I tried them on my doors soon after making the copies and they worked perfectly. I would definitely recommend if you need keys copied!

Was in and out in less than five minutes. Cost me $10 for four keys. I kid you not. That's about as good as it gets in NYC.

I considered subtracting one star because the owner was on the phone during the entire transaction, but then I decided... well, that's actually pretty impressive. The guy's a multitasking superhero.

I had to have my doorknob and deadbolt Mortiss Lock replaced. The locksmith was prompt, courteous, and fast. I would definitely recommend his work. They also take credit cards on the spot, so if you don't have enough cash on hand you can give them your CC#
