Services
A local residential move is considered a short distance move that can be within the same county, city or even neighborhood you currently reside. With convenient locations serving every major region, MVD MOVERS interstate moving agents are proud to independently service your local residential moving needs through their own separate local moving companies and brands.
Please make sure to choose the correct type of work you need. If you need help with something that ISN'T in the list, please choose "Other." We typically start jobs from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM and from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, but we'll do whatever we can to accomodate your schedule, elevator reservation times, etc. Please choose the best times for you, but if our start times work, please default to those.
We do have a cancelation policy. When clients reschedule on short notice it can be very difficult or impossible to find a replacement job, and this impacts the business significantly. If you cancel or reschedule within a week before your move we charge a one hour fee. Inside of 48 hours we charge for two hours.

I've used this moving company for two different moves, at the end of April 2021 and mid May 2021. I found them on Thumbtack and they had the best rate out of all of the quotes for what seemed to be the best value. I took a chance with them to move all of my belongings from my two bedroom apt into a storage unit, and a second time to move all of my belongings into my new apartment. They were easy to book, responded quickly whenever I had questions and when confirming my appointments, were on time, worked fast, and were careful with my items. Roman, Giga, and Oscar were GREAT for our move. They were on time, swift, AND careful. Plus, they offered us the best quote out of 8 different companies we considered! More than once when we were loading up, Roman took some extra cardboard and bent and taped it into the perfect custom protective package for an oddly-shaped, fragile item. The guys also quickly and expertly wrapped all seven bookcases that we didn't get a chance to wrap (we ran out of time), even though furniture wrapping wasn't supposed to be part of the service we'd contracted them to do. Showed up on time and managed to complete the work in less time than we expected. They were very professional, careful with our furniture. They also came fully protected due to the pandemic. They accommodated our request for contactless move. They shared pictures of the work they completed so we were fully aware of what they were doing at all times. We would definitely recommend.

I had a great experience with this company. The guys Ross and his crew were very polite. All my staff was handled with care, every piece of furniture was packed and loaded really fast. My 3 bedroom townhouse was moved in 6 hours (I was prepared to spend all day moving). And I also was impressed how they handles my VERY narrow stairs with no single scratch on the walls. I saved their number and will definitely go with them next time.

Great moving company - have used them twice in the past year and came recommended from 2 other friends who were equally impressed by them.
Ross, crew was easy to book, reliable, fast but most of all so careful with all of our belongings. They wrapped and taped everything, were incredibly careful moving in and out of the house. Highly recommend.

The movers were pretty fast although two of them constantly took cigarette breaks. The movers were given the wrong information and wasn't prepared to move. A three bedroom and break down three beds as discussed when setting appointment. They were told one bedroom and one bed
The movers weren't careful with my furniture as many things are ripped and broken with screws missing.

I had a great move until a year later I noticed that they had destroyed the hard wood floor of my house and the movers conveniently forgot to tell me about and hide the damaged floor under my bed so I wouldn't see it. Please see picture attached.
I am attempting to work with the company now but they appear to be unresponsive and are saying they are not responsible for the damages.
If you are reading this I would recommend going with a more expensive moving company and save yourself the hassle.
If MVD Movers would like help rectify this situation I would reflect that accordingly!

Moved my stuff fairly quickly and painlessly. Problem is, they put down zero floor protection of any kind and destroyed my carpets in my new home. They acted like they had never heard of such a thing as protecting the carpet. Hard to do anything about it when your stuff is all on their truck, though. Management also acted like he had never heard of this before, and had no interest in making things right.

MVD Movers did an outstanding job moving commercial office space with excellent care and minimal timing. We were very pleased with attention to detail in packing, transportation and unpacking of office space. An additional care was provided to moving IT equipment to a data center location.

I have used MVD movers several times over the last 3 years. I have their number on speed dial and they are my go to moving company. My latest move was residential and involved 3 trips because of the amount of furniture and household items we have accumulated over the years. I did most of my own packing, but the large heavy items were handles by MVD. They moved my solid wood bed, tables. Chairs and dressers. All heavy items were packed in carpet like fabric so that they would not be scratched. I opted out to pack and move my own electronics, such as TVs and computers, as I would not want sensitive

Giving it three stars because they moved everything in less than 4 hours and with less than 24 hours notice, and the price was so affordable! But now I ended up paying for it the hard way because I'm left with the heaviest lifting and can't even get settled in to my home in a timely manner.
IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR FULL SERVICE LOLE THEIR WEBSITE STATES, IT IS NOT!! Would not use again or recommend!

#2, The initial attitude was rude and seemed bothered to be there, so the whole move was rushed.

Absolutely fantastic. Moved out of my 2 bedroom apartment in 3.5 hours from the 6th floor. Booked only one week in advance. Courtesy call 24 hours prior to scheduled move, brought three men, 17ft, truck and materials necessary to get the job done. Very friendly, upfront, and efficient. Would highly recommend that MVD Movers be your first call when searching for quality movers in the DMV.
