I've used Local Moves now twice and am very happy with their service. I bought a stone buddha at an estate sale that weighs about 800 lbs. (not kidding)! They were able to carefully carry it down the steep steps to my yard -- no small feat! I'm not sure any other movers would have even tried to do it. They also just moved a concrete table and two concrete pillars to my deck. They carefully wrapped the concrete table and delivered it without an issue. WANTED to hire this company for my move. They quoted $75/hr per person via Yelp and asked for pictures of my small piano, that they might be able to include that in the proposed rate, though I was open to an additional cost. I sent them a photo, they never got back to me. I finally called to see what the cost would be, and they seemingly didn't remember quoting me originally and tried to charge me $1200, a solid $700 more than ANY other company quoted me. Disappointed they didn't seem to have their act together.

I was a bit nervous about trying to find movers online - there are so many choices and everyone has an opinion. Thankfully I selected Local Moves LLC and they took care of everything professionally and quickly right from the start! I am so pleased with Local Moves! We had a multi part move between staging and selling our home to being in between homes to ultimately our move in. They stored our items as well.
Each member of their team carefully and efficiently moved all our belongings. Communication was clear and prompt. They really make the moving process as smooth as possible. I was impressed they remembered where most of the stuff went by what room it was in. All our antiques and art arrived safely and in great condition.

I've moved 7 times in the past 10 years, all but one using a moving company. Local Moves has been clearly the best so far: clear and timely in their communication, punctual, careful, friendly and very, very fast.
I'd strongly encourage others to work with them and since we're bound to move again in the next couple of years, I'll be sure to give them a call.

I inquired with a lot of moving companies and picked local moves because they were very accommodating of moving 2 apartments in one move. The movers Rafael and Julio, were on time, polite, careful with our items, and very efficient! I would recommend Local Moves to anyone I know and will certainly look to them should I need to move again in the future.

We were so glad we chose Local Moves! In the current environment the last thing anyone wants to do is move, but Stephanie, Rafael and their team were awesome! Rafael, his son and right hand man were fantastic. The communication was great leading up to the move. He said he would arrive at 9:00 and he arrived right at 9:00. He was extremely careful with all of our furniture and boxes. He even moved a piano from the late 1800's. Everything arrived in great shape. He was very flexible with removing some items late and adding many items the day of the move. We filled his truck. He drove in traffic 4 hours from the bay area to Auburn and did not even eat to save time and money. I never saw them take a break. They moved fast and efficiently. I highly recommend

My situation was different. At the very last minute, less than 12 hours notice, I was frantically calling around to get help with a move. Rafael answered my call late at night and told me he would have someone come out and help me the next day.
The following day, my cut off time to have my items at the storage facility unit was even earlier than I had previously mentioned to Rafael.
The movers came to the house, worked quickly and carefully to get everything loaded on the truck, went to my second location to load more of my items to the truck and then went on to the final destination .... arriving

Check out the uploads of my email/text history with Rafael the owner and pics dated/time stamped a few days before I moved. Everything they have stated in the email about my home being unclean is a LIE. Everything said in the yelp response to my post is a LIE. Due to the harassment and vandalism I experienced I am posting everything publicly. I have nothing to hide. Lets see the bloody tampon pics!!!! Nice touch...real classy. FYI My bathroom was tapped off and inaccessible plus I dont get my period for several months due to my bc method. Why would you stoop so low after vandalizing property

We called Rafael during the busy summer season, and he was able to fit our move in the same week. Not only did he accommodate our tight schedule, but his crew was incredible! They worked quickly, efficiently, and neatly. You could tell they literally did not waste one minute of time, and they took extreme care in wrapping every piece of furniture and all delicate items without any extra cost for materials.

When I sent in a request for a written quote (with all detailed information the move provided) the owner replied via email that he is old school, only wanted to speak to me on the phone, THEN he'd give me a quote. I wanted a written quote with an estimate so I could THEN make a determination on who I want to speak to and select.
It's poor form to ask for written information on a move, have a person submit it, then respond you will not provided a written quote back.

A couple of weeks after they damaged my property, Rafael finally sent me his insurance contact name and phone number. The name of the insurance company Rafael gave me didn't exist but when I called the number, the rep said Rafael's policy expired in June of this year.
They have no insurance and will not give me updated insurance information and still have not supplied their carrier number. Do yourself a favor and protect your property, find a mover that actually has insurance.
