We have used Shelton Plumbing for years. Both Mr. Shelton and also his son Dave who operates it now.
Dave has always been responsive and very honest. He replaced a failed waiter heater for us today and was awesome as usual. Dave also knows old homes and has been great at managing the issues that come up when doing plumbing on an older home. Highly recommend.

Went without water heater until I found a plumber could trust. Interviewed one with a lot of advertising and met with a lovey young man who gave me a quote of almost $3,000.00. For a 30 gallon water heater replacement! Shelton Plumbing did it for less than half and did it fast! I'm sold, next time I need a plumber I know who to call.

Just wanting to add to my previous review of Dave Shelton:
Dave met me at one of my apartments today for an emergency water leak. Dave was there within an hour of my call, and as always, his work was quick and thorough, saving the day for me. Dave also took care of a few minor plumbing issues, wanting me to get my money's worth during the hour he was there. I've used a lot of plumbers here in SD, but now I stick with Dave for all my apartment plumbing problems. Thanks Dave. I'll see you next time.

We have worked with Shelton Plumbing for many years. They installed a tankless water heater. It was not easy. The gas meter was on the other side of the house and they had to crawl in a very tight area under the house to bring the line over. We now love our water heater. We were about to spend thousands of dollars on lining a waste pipe to the street. Dave Shelton used root killer and another product to clean off the calcium build up in the toilet. We have not had a problem with an overflowing toilet ever since. He saved us lots of money. Dave installed a kitchen faucet for us. I chose one

Called Shelton plumbing today an Dave was able to stop by. Had a clogged sink which was causing a weird rattle in my wall. Had him look at a issue in my kitchen as well. He was able to take care of everything in a timely manner. Very impressed with his confidence/knowledge. I have seen his truck in my neighborhood before so felt comfortably giving this company a shot. Extremely happy an will refer him to others.

Dave just completed a big job for us and his work was impeccable. After 7:00 PM we noticed our water heater was leaking. He picked up the phone after his posted business hours and rearranged his schedule so that he could squeeze us in first thing the next morning. He spent time investigating the problem and explained possible solutions. We decided to install a tankless water heater and are so happy with Dave's excellent work. Dave was fantastic! He was prompt (responded in 15min), predictable (flat rate), clean (prides himself in being the cleanest plumber), and very courteous.
Not only was Dave a straight shooter, but he was pleasant to talk to and took the time to answer my questions and explain things to me. He will be first on my list when I have another plumbing issue or need to replace my water heater.

Called Dave on the recommendation of a neighbor and he was able to come by the next day to look at a problem we were having with the kitchen faucet as well as one with the bathroom toilet. He was able to fix both on the spot. Pricing is about what you'd expect, so I can't say it was super cheap or too expensive, but I suppose you get what you pay for most of the time. I'd recommend him to others and will call him for future plumbing needs.

Wow. I wish all service people were as honest and direct as Dave Shelton of Shelton Plumbing is. I called him about a stuck bathroom faucet, and instead of immediately coming out (and charging me a service call), he asked that I take a photo of the faucet and text it to him. He was able to tell me that the parts needed would be replaced for free by the manufacturer, and to call and have them send the new parts before he came over.
Once the parts arrived, he showed up promptly and fixed what turned out to be a nasty mess inside the faucet parts. He only charged me for the service call, performed

I was referred to them by a pleased customer and called and got a call back instantly. I had requested a service that he told me I honestly didn't need, and asked who had told me that I did! Then he referred me to another repairman for the second job (which I did need- a leaky washing machine). He took his time talking with me on the phone, asking questions, not just trying to rack up an appointment he could bill me for.
That sort of honesty is hard to come by. Five stars for that!
