Ventana Construction
Ventana Construction is a Seattle-based professional remodeling company specializing in whole-house remodels, home additions, and custom homes. We also build backyard cottages, garages, remodel kitchens and baths and transform unfinished basements into great living space.

Our website includes information about our company and the special services we offer, along with a link to questions most frequently asked of us when clients call for the first time.We also have an extensive remodeling portfolio, a great list of useful resources for your project, and a link to our company blog.

We welcome questions about the remodeling and home building process and will happily share the sources of materials shown in our portfolio. Perched on a bluff above Shilshole Bay, a dated kitchen and a '50s bath were out of synch.
Services
Often we are the first call a homeowner makes when they are interested in starting a remodel. Questions about likely cost, logistics and feasibility are common. We can help at this point with some ballpark costs to help set a realistic budget, and then happily recommend architects and designers to help with a construction set of plans and permitting.
You can start with a call to us. We can talk about ballpark costs, general feasibility based on available public records, and process. We can also put you in touch with architects and designers who can help you with detailed feasibility and plans, and are likely to be a good fit for you and your project.
Ventana Construction exceeded our expectations in all aspects of our project. Owners, Anne and Clarence Higuera, demonstrated excellent attention to detail, organization, communication, and trustworthiness. Their commitment to customer satisfaction was evident throughout our remodel; they went above and beyond expectations throughout.
Basements are the last frontier of many homes in Seattle: undeveloped, a little raw and with some real logistical challenges. Basements also often represent a good value for creating new, usable space in your home. Whether you have high ceilings, need to dig down, or even lift the house, basement remodeling is a very common project in our city.
Kitchen remodels often require more thought and planning than any other room in your home. They are ideally both functional and beautiful - a place to cook good food, for friends and family to gather, and big enough to have room for lots of helping hands. These kitchens represent a huge range of budget and style.

I find the 1-star reviews quite amusing and annoying. News flash ~ the world does not revolve around you!! I've done 4 major remodels; construction is a complex process. General contracting is a tough business having to juggle owner needs, budgets, schedules all sorts of frustrating subcontractors. Give them a break if they are a few minutes late or not able to do a visit at your immediate notice. Unless you are currently living in a cave, you should know it's crazy busy out there. If you find someone really cheap or easily available then he may not be very good! Check references!

I hired Ventana Construction for a remodel of the basement. The work included a new bathroom, laundry room, and utility room, and updating a staircase, office, and back door entrance. Everything in the remodel turned out beautifully! The quality of the construction was excellent.

Working with Ventana was a great experience. Anne and Clarence, the owners of Ventana, deeply care about their work and their clients. Anne is wonderful at communication and keeping the project moving. Clarence has a depth of experience in construction. Together, they make an excellent team.

I always felt I

Absolutely puzzling!

I reached out to Ventana Construction because I read some positive reviews. After the initial phone tag- I was able to connect with Anne in what was an utterly bizarre phone call.

We have an 8x8 bathroom. It's already plumbed, has electrical, and basically just needs updating.

Without actually seeing the area or what we hope to do- Anne quoted me 25-30K and told me that it would take five weeks to complete. She told me that the tile alone would take an entire week.

This is waaaaaaaay outside what all the other builders have quoted us after visiting and taking a look

Having Ventana Construction in our home for nearly 5 months on a major remodel was a good experience. So good, that the first 10 days after the finish I missed the crew. They are efficient; professional; great with details in every aspect; willing, agreeable & always finding ways to find extra space, leaving no dead spaces. No request was too small or bothersome to them during the process. This was the second time we hired Ventana & it was a very complicated remodel creating a livable space from a cellar. We are totally happy with Ventana & hope to hire them again for the main

We've done two fairly substantial renovation projects with Ventana, the most recent one wrapped up in late 2011. Our house is a 1929 Brick Tudor, with loads of potential - and lots of 1970s-era "improvements" that needed correcting. Ventana helped us rethink our kitchen and first floor layout, turning dark and poky rooms into wonderful living space.

The best thing about Ventana is the quality of their work. They are absolutely meticulous at every step of the project. We're just so pleased with how well they handled the smallest details.

Second best thing? Their customer

WE hired Ventana Construction to do our house remodel. In all our remodeling experiences we have never been this satisfied. First of all, we were very impressed with the overall quality of workmanship. We've been living in our newly remodeled house since April and LOVE everything about it. We started the job in November and actually finished the job a few weeks AHEAD of schedule. The owners Clarence and Ann are committed to performing quality work, delivering excellent customer service, are extremely well-organized and very detail oriented. For any subsequent house projects, I would only hire

We hired Ventana to remodel our 1924 bungalow. It had been somewhat remodeled 10 years prior, but our master bathroom was still very small and did not match the era of the house (gray slate floors, granite counters and wall-to-wall mirrors).

Once we started with the bathroom, we realized that there were other aspects of the home that we wanted to change -- so what started as a small bathroom remodel turned into an eight month project. We felt so comfortable and confident that Ventana would do an excellent job that we never hesitated to embark on this larger project.

From beginning to end, they

We called this company and set up an appointment with no problem. The coordinator showed up10 minutes late, (yes I am very prompt and believe your time is just as valuable as mine). We spoke for a while about the project, (which was a major kitchen & bath remodel that we estimated to be between $100,000-$200,000) The biggest issue we had is that we never received a follow-up call, letter or email. i guess they are to busy to follow-up. Not recommended.
