Services
For over 25 years, owner Chris Hess and the CSIA-certified team at Atlas Chimney have traveled all over the Texas Hill Country, providing the residents of central Texas with quality chimney services. We handle all aspects of chimney cleaning, inspection and repair, and strive to deliver the best possible service to each and every customer.
Winters here in Texas Hill Country may be mild in comparison to a lot of other areas in the U.S., but we're thankful for our fireplaces and chimneys nonetheless - especially in January! Coming in to a warm fire when it's a mere 32 degrees out is one of the best and most relaxing ways to take the chill off and get cozy.
Did you spend most of last winter curled up next to the fireplace? Whether you burned an eighth of a cord of wood, two cords, or more, it's important to know if a chimney sweeping is necessary before you light up another fire. The easiest way to know if it's time for a cleaning is to schedule an annual inspection before or after each burn season.
Can you remember the last time you had your chimney and fireplace inspected by a trained, experienced, and certified professional? The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) recommend that every homeowner, regardless of the age of their system or the amount of use it sees, have their chimney inspected every single year.
We get a good deal of rain down here in the Texas Hill Country - is your chimney equipped to fight the fight against leaks? For more than 30 years, the expert technicians here at Atlas Chimney have worked with homeowners in the greater Austin area to help them keep water out of their chimneys and homes.

Chris spent an hour and a half telling me how much he knows about fireplaces but then told me he couldn't solve my issue and charged me $200. I don't recommend this company.

I made an appointment with Chris 2 weeks to have my chimney cleaned. During our conversation, I asked how much the service would be, and he hung up on me. He then texts me 10 minutes after my appointment that he would be about 2 hours late. Very unprofessional.

Great analysis, experience and overall value with Chris. He assessed our aging chimney, provided repair, and suggested long term improvements in a structured, cost effective approach for our 60-year old home.

Overpriced for what you get. Chris was late, said he'd be there between 9 &10, got here closer to noon. Was gone by 2, and charged 950 to use a large shop vac to clean some of our air ducts. Apparently 5 of the ducts were too small. $150 to inspect our chimney, would've been another $50 to clean it. But after living here 7 years & never using the fireplace it wasn't dirty enough to clean. Seems like an inspection would be $50, and another $150 to clean it, considering the cleaning would be where the real work is. He wasn't rude or anything, I just feel like the service

Zero stars. I made an appointment for chimney clean and inspection. They were behind and couldn't do it on the day we made the appointment so Chris said he would be out the next day. He text me he was on his way. Great news! Shows up at 5pm to my house, sees my driveway and decides it was too steep to walk down so he left, with a notification over text, which I didn't get because my phone was downstairs while I was taking care of my kids upstairs. Are you kidding me? Like other reviewers have posted he claimed he was "too old" to be walking down my driveway. Wow. How exactly

I never write bad reviews on here but I had the owner out to the property. I'm looking at buying a house and wanted to have the chimney inspected to see how much it would be to repair. He kept saying he was too old to get on the roof to inspect the chimney and too old to get in the attic. I hired him to inspect my chimney and got no answers. I asked if there was any other employee who could come out and take a look and he stated they are all busy and he has only a few employees. When all said and done he still asked for the $200 stating his contract states there are things he can not see as

I had crumbling mortar on the cap of my chimney and had Chris and assistant install a metal cap on the chimney. Excellent work and looks very good!

Called and scheduled to have someone come and give an estimate for damages from a fallen tree. Didn't show up. I called and left a voicemail and all I got was crickets. I don't take it lightly when someone has total disregard of my time. Don't waste a second on this one.

This is the second time I've used them. The first was great - one of Chris' workers came out and inspected our system and cleaned it. Reasonable and knowledgeable and great customer service. This time the owner came out. He was late - said he'd be there at 9...didn't start working until afternoon, plus he had an attitude. His price was not what he quoted me over the phone and he started to complain about his own employee not being trained. Unbelievable. Never again.

Atlas is clearly the best in the business for Chimney Sweeping & Repairs. Unlike some other companies, Atlas is professional & they absolutely know what they're doing. The cost of basic service is competitive & the expertise exhibited by their team is far beyond the local competitor in our area. I highly recommend Atlas & am now a loyal customer for the foreseeable future.

Terrible experience. Left the fireplace dirty and soot stains on my rug. Scheduled an appointment for the owner, Christopher Hess, to come see my rug at 4:00 pm on 4/22/19 and he didn't show up. Now he isn't returning my calls.

Chris came out to estimate for a chimney leaking into my home.
He said he would email the estimate in a day or two. I called to follow up
and he told me he was busy. Two weeks later no estimate.

Hris and his assistant came out the same day. They were friendly and knowledgeable. The estimate was somewhat higher than a competing quote, but he returned well ahead of the date promised with the newly fabricated chimney crown. His installer did an excellent job and afterward shared photos of the important details. I feel good about their quality.

Owner hung up on us. I wanted to discuss his higher rates. I don't think he did. He said only his techs were certified. He took an interesting tone of voice before he hung up on me. I did try to call him back, giving him the benefit of doubt. He did not answer. Based on these actions, we did not hire them. We found a great company (Express) with good attitudes.

My parents just recently moved to Texas in November and after moving in their dryer wasn't working properly. The company that installed their flooring and painted their house recommended Atlas Chimney. My parents called and scheduled an appointment and they came out to clean out their dryer duct.

Atlas Chimney was out for 15 minutes and cleaned out their dryer duct from the outside of the house. They never came on the inside of their house to see if it needed to be cleaned from the other direction. Needless to say there is a 90 degree turn and it was still clogged from the inside to that

We had our panels replaced and fire place cleaned about a month ago.

Chris was great to work with and did a good job in a timely manner. The job site was left clean and we have had been using the fireplace with no issues.

We live out in the Lago Vista area so it was nice to know that Chris has a large area he covers and was willing to come out where we live.

He responded very quickly to our request given the distance and the time of the year.

Chris stayed in contact with me regarding the appointment and his schedule so there were no surprises with respect to the schedule. The time was slightly

We had a great experience with Chris at Atlas Chimney. We moved in to this house a couple years ago, but given the sheer number of other things that either broke or were already bad but missed during the home inspection, I'd been hesitant to use the fireplace until getting it properly inspected and cleaned by someone who specializes in such things.

Chris got here, checked over the gas loop, then inspected the chimney. After a few minutes, he called me over, told me things were in good shape and the chimney really didn't need cleaning. He reduced his quote to cover his time and the

So, if you look at my record here on Yelp, I'm pretty good at providing amazing and positive feedback on services, hotels, and restaurants.

However, when someone schedules an appointment with your company a week in advance, and no one calls to follow up on my three calls the day of the appointment, we have ourselves a "Eek! Methinks not" review on Yelp, especially given the fact that I blocked out an entire Friday morning away from work to be here for the service (even committing to the $200 price tag for the service call when they come out.)
