Modern Tech Wood Floors L.L.C is a hard wood floor/staircase refinishing and repair company in Portland Oregon. I specialize in historical floor rejuvenation and handle all of the labor personally. I have been in the flooring industry for 18 years. I have experience in many types of projects such as gymnasiums, intricate parquet, many exotic species and custom staining.
My real bread and butter is a good 100 year old fir floor or a nice worn oak floor in need of some love. I have refinished many hundreds of them and know that they are the heart of Portland. Comments: Andrew came in and did an excellent job on refinishing our hardwood floor in the dining room. It had been covered in carpeting for over 30 years and he made it look great.

If you want to bring new life to your old floors, Andrew is the person to call. He is a creative problem solver and all of the repairs were seamless. He made my floors look cohesive and uniform, and the results were better than I could have predicted. Andrew kept me in the loop, and I received photo and video updates daily. He was punctual, kind, and true to his bid. I plan on working with him on any future projects.

My partner & I could NOT be happier with the amazing job that Andrew did! We had 100 year old fir floors that the previous owners painted plum, and he restored them beautifully!!!
His pricing was super fair & his communication was great! He was even able to start within 2 weeks of us emailing! Furthermore, he even offered to water our plants & feed our cats while we stayed elsewhere :’)
Andrew also went above and beyond to send us progress pics and videos daily!

As an owner of an 80+ year old duplex it is hard to find a skilled craftsman who is wiling to put in the time and attention needed to deal with a nailed wood floor. Andrew did an outstanding job! His quote was reasonable, his timeliness much appreciated and the quality of his work was excellent. We will definitely use him again. His kindness in leaving us floor cleaning mop, felt pads and floor cleaner for our next tenant showed his commitment to keeping our floor looking beautiful for the long term

Our 90 year old wood floors look amazing! Andrew, with Modern Tech Wood Floors, did an awesome job restoring our floors. Andrew was very easy to work with, he had fast and easy communication, he was flexible with scheduling (even with all the delays we had on our end), and he was always on time and worked long hours to get our floors done.
Andrew was also very sweet with our two year old daughter. He made a point to warn us about any dangers in the house if we happened to come by when he was working. He also brought her a gift when he was done.

Andrew did an amazing job on my hardwood floors. I bought a house with the original hardwoods from the 60's, which hadn't been refinished in ages (if ever). I wanted them done prior to moving in, and he quickly scheduled my estimate and got me on the books to meet my time schedule. He is incredibly knowledgeable about hardwood floors, and was able to give me a thorough history of my floors and what to expect from them for the future. Andrew does incredible work, he refinished the wood floors in our new home (found under carpet) for us. His prices were competitive, and his work was high quality (just finished yesterday).
More than that however, he was personable and helpful throughout the entire process. He was considerate of our needs, he answered all the questions we had, and made all sorts of helpful suggestions for the care of the floors, and work in the rest of the room/home.
